So this spring semester officially ended 1 week ago today. Got my grades, and, well, I survived. Too many Cs, not enough Bs. But I survived, and I didn't expect to, so I'm happy. Now that I haven't been able to find a job in Huntsville (yet?) I decided I needed a project... something I've been meaning to do for a long while now. Build a new desktop computer! Built my last one back in July/August of 2005, so it's about time again. Old one is showing it's age, not being able to play games well at all anymore, just getting a little bit funky.
So I ordered all the new parts, everything has come in except the case, and the tearing down and building up process has begun! And now, for some nerdy pictures.
Desk Before:
I literally had a space fan next to my open case just to keep it from overheating:
Desk Now:
Old computer got moved to my dresser for music and backup purposes after my new one is built, so ghetto:
Close-up of the new CPU socket on the new motherboard before putting the CPU on. This is really really close up, this thing is small:
I'll put up a picture or 3 of the finished product/process when I'm done. Case should come today, that's the next thing I need before I continue construction.
Okay, so I'm a huge nerd, whatever, deal with it. Building this kind of crap is fun. And at least I don't play World of Warcraft, weigh 300lbs, not shower, eat nothing but Mountain Dew and Hot Pockets, and live in my parents' basement :)
