Oscar Predictions and Hopes + Funny Movie

Here's how this will work... I'm going to BOLD each movie I think will win, and ITALICIZE each movie I want to win. Some may be both bolded and italicized. In some categories I may italicize a few picks that I would love to see win. Some categories I have no clue on so I'm blindly guessing... like a lot of the later ones. In the end, most critics are saying it is a race between The Hurt Locker and Avatar in almost every category they are nominated for, but especially best picture. I for one do not think The Hurt Locker was an amazing movie, and even though Avatar was fun and made a lot of money, it wasn't the best movie made this year. I hope the race is so tight between them that another movie is able to sneak in and beat them both. Especially for Best Picture. Only thing I really want Avatar to win is visual effects, because they were honestly the best visual effects in any movie ever. Ever. Period.

Missed a lot. Now: Spring Break

A lot has happened since my last post... but I shall describe none of it here right now. Too much to write. I've had so many things I've wanted to say/write on here recently but literally haven't had time to sit down and do it. One thing happens, time goes by, and a new thing happens to make the previous thought I've wanted to get across obsolete. That's the beauty of twitter though I guess - post quick things whenever!

Anyways, yep, a whole lot has gone on: Oscars, my trip to Orlando to visit Lake Hart where I'm considering possibly working after graduation with Campus Crusade, school crap going on, interesting situational stuff and fun things that have been going on, and now tomorrow I'm leaving for Florida for the second time in less than a month. We're leaving at 7am for Clearwater.

I've been looking forward to this spring break for a while, but the past week there have been things worrying me. First, everyone around me is sick as a dog, including Dan who was quite bad off. So I've been praying I didn't get that, considering I'm a driver on this trip (and that's like a 12 hour freakin drive with a group our size). Then, yesterday, I didn't contract his alement but I contracted something else... semi-embarassing but what the crap. Basically, I constantly feel like I have to go to the bathroom even if I don't actually have to go at all. No pain, nothing, just that I constantly feel like I have to go. This has only happened two other times in my life and both situations involved having too many softdrinks (could be an adverse reaction to caffeine or carbonation or something). Those situations actually caused me to stop drinking soft drinks altogether. And then yesterday, bam, it came back, and it has been torturing me all yesterday and all today. I don' t know what in the world could have caused it. Coffee? Too much Vitamin C (which I have had a crapton of in an effort to not get sick)? I can't think what it could be. But it's ridiculously awful and I can barely even sleep. Hopefully it won't go into a third day and driving at 7am tomorrow for 12 hours won't be hell. I don't want to be "that guy" that is always pulling over.

Worry number 2 is all the rain. It's ridiculous. I HATE driving in the rain more than just about anything - bad past experiences. And most of the entire drive will be in the rain. I'm wimpy and like to go slow in the rain "just in case" but I won't be able to do that if I'm a part of a caravan. Plus, the constant dripping water all around me surely won't help the problem above if that issue persists. I'm really ready for tomorrow to be over already. Which is sad because I normally LOVE driving long distances and I love road trips. But the rain + medical issues is freaking me out.

Blah. Hopefully it'll be fine by morn. But I doubt it. But hopefully.

Dang you world of TV!!!

I had a goal. A simple goal. I began it months ago when I started to see movies on the  horizon that may or may not make it to Oscar season, but my goal was to watch every Oscar nominee (namely best picture nominees, but maybe others), BEFORE the Awards. Sure, I still have time, I can still do it, and I only have 3 left (and quick access to all 3), but I'm not sure I will succeed... why?

TV. Specifically, a TV show I've been avoiding for 5 years now. A TV show I've heard rave reviews about, heard people becoming addicted to, heard people talking about. A TV show that I said I wouldn't watch precisely because people obsessed and liked it a little too much. I don't want to follow the crowd. I like to be unique. But less than a week ago, I caved and watched the pilot episode of the first season. And now I'm hooked. I've literally watched six 45 minute episodes in the past TWO DAYS.

Curse you TV.

Curse you Lost.

I am a sheep being led to slaughter, a lemming, an Alabamian who likes Sweet Home Alabama, a Republican who likes Bush. I am a Wal-Mart shopping, coffee drinking, Mac weilding, poloshirt wearing, internet blogging, facebook using, recent addict of Lost. Is there anything about me that is the least bit original?
