From my Xanga journal that I started in 2003 and stopped updating in 2008, instead switching to blogger. Anyways, yeah, here it is:
"Who knows what the future may hold? I've given up on guessing. But one thing I don't plan on doing: trying to control the future when I'm not even the one in control of anything anyways. God's the one shuffling the cards and giving me the ones I'm supposed to have - it's not my role to look through the deck, pick the ones I think will make the best hand, and then throw those away to go back picking until I win. I'm just supposed to take what's given to me, and start placing the big bets once I know that He's given me the hand He wants me to have. My prayer? That I recognize the hand when it's given to me - Because it can get as confusing, complicated, and as unnerving as a game of poker."
I'd say the same goes for now! I just need to work on the whole controlling part still. God, help me to recognize when you've given me the hand I'm supposed to bet on. Hah, that wording sounds weird... you get the idea.

Review - Zombieland
Okay, so I haven't been posting anything in a while and this won't be very long either. I feel like I'm ridiculously short on time as of late considering school and stuff with crusade. However, I did have enough time to catch Zombieland last night with a pretty large group of friends! And I'll start by saying this... my prediction for Zombieland was correct. It was in fact an awesome movie.
I could get all detailed but I'm not going to this time. Let's just say that if you like action movies, if you like comedies, if you don't mind blood/gore/some cursing, then you won't be offended by this movie. In fact, you'll probably thoroughly enjoy it. The story is pretty basic - nothing really special to get worked up about - but the directing, the sequences, the lines, the humorous moments, all make this movie fantastic if not a little bit dumb.
Some of the little things made the movie even greater. There was a pretty sweet cameo appearance, all of the rules were hilarious, even the main character's desire to simply brush hair over a girls ear, really gave the movie the heart and comedic mix that it thrived on. Rule 32: Enjoy the little things.
Potential Based on Preview: 7.5/10
Actual Movie: 8.5/10
